Victoria Pendleton retires after controverisal final race to take silver medal

Victoria Pendleton retired from cycling after winning a silver medal at London 2012 in a controversial race with her arch rival.

The champion British cyclist was relegated from a final heat of the women's sprint and saw Australian Anna Meares power ahead to the finish line in the next race.

Tearful scenes followed as Miss Pendleton confirmed shw will be retiring from cycling. But she could now in line for a multi-million pound future from sponsorship deals and glamour shoots. Click here to read more and see her latest sensational shots.
